Emily served the founding pastor of St. Lydia's Dinner Church from 2008-2017, a congregation in Brooklyn where communion is a shared meal around the table.
The term "Dinner Church" was coined by Rachel Kroh, St. Lydia's first staff person and a collaborator who had immense impact on the project. Dinner Churches have sprung up all over the country, and St. Lydia's received regular visits from church planters and leaders interested in learning about the practice.
Emily departed from St. Lydia's in 2017, and was sent off with love and grace! The congregation is now in the process of calling their next pastor, with the help of an Interim Pastor.
